Thank you for being willing to participate in this research study of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the health and well-being of residents in your area. We realize that you may have experienced significant setbacks related to the pandemic, and extend our deepest sympathies for any losses you may have suffered. We hope that through our research we can better understand the challenges that people experience during and after disasters and public health emergencies. We think that this research can help inform how to better plan and respond to similar events that may occur in the future. This is a unique opportunity for you to contribute to these efforts.
The study is conducted by the RAND Corporation, a non-profit research organization, in collaboration with Louisiana State University. It is funded by the National Science Foundation and builds on a research study that you helped with in the Summer of 2016. That survey was conducted by telephone, and you answered questions about your experiences after the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and about your health. In 2018 and 2019 we again invited you to participate in a survey on the impacts of recent hurricanes. We are now contacting you again to invite you to share your experiences following the pandemic.
You can take the survey below. You can take the survey below, please have your six digit Unique-ID ready that was included in your cover letter, and in the top right of your paper survey. Thank you!
